Gateway USA
Summary
Gateway USATM
is a proposed permanent trade exposition to be located in New Jersey
on the Hudson River Waterfront. The purpose of having such a facility
in New Jersey is to provide a central location where overseas buyers
can interact with American vendors and technology.
The concept for this facility is modeled after
the successful Taipei World Trade Center in Taiwan, which was established
as a comprehensive one-stop shop for visiting traders whereby a
visitor can view a trade show, sign bulk orders, attend a conference,
research Taiwan's trading scene, make travel arrangements and then
walk to their hotel. The Taipei facility attracts numerous international
world-class trade shows yearly and can accommodate more than 10,000
convention delegates.
The Expo Center would be compromised of five main
exposition buildings totaling 2.2 million sq. ft. connected by a
series of atria. Each building would focus on a different sector
of America's marketplace, such as electronics and communications,
manufacturing, medical, chemical and pharmaceutical, natural resources
and energy as well as consumer goods. The Center would house over
3,000 permanent exhibit units, a total of approximately 650,000
sq. ft., where companies could display their products and services
on a permanent basis. Also included within the Center would be approximately
400,000 sq. ft. of show space for various trade shows. The center
would also have approximately 160,000 sq. ft. for trade association
offices and other support facilities, 400,000 sq. ft. of common
space, and 640,000 sq. ft. of atria space.
The proposed project site is over 400 acres, of
which 3,750,00 sq. ft. is projected for commercial and 3,780,000
sq. ft. for residential building. The area would also contain cultural
amenities including three hotels, a marina and restaurants.
Services Rendered
This concept was developed by the
Gateway Steering Committee which is compromised of prominent individuals
in the engineering, architecture, economics, legal and communications
disciplines who share a common commitment to bring the United State's
first permanent trade exposition facility to New Jersey. Morley,
Koserowski, and Grant is part of this committee and is providing
the legal counsel necessary for this project.
